Mistakes People Make With YouTube Marketing

More and more successful marketers are using YouTube Marketing in their marketing plan. It's one of the best ways to get super targeted traffic to their websites. However, if you don't do it properly, you are going to find yourself frustrated with your lack of views and traffic. In this article, I will discuss with you the most common mistakes people make when marketing with YouTube.

They Don't Do Keyword Research

Most people just rush out and start making videos about their product or service without even thinking about keyword research. They use obscure titles, hardly any tags are implemented, and no description at all. Then they get upset that they don't get any views.

Well what do you expect? YouTube's search engine doesn't know what to do with the information they provided.

Utilizing keyword research before even making a video helps you understand how content is being searched for. Not only that, it can give you lots of other ideas for video content in the future.

They Don't Keep the Videos Short

So you have a lot to say about your product or service. Great! Break it up into smaller chunks of video content. Most people don't want to watch 10 - 15 minutes of you telling everyone about how awesome your skills are. YouTube is comprised of bite sized bits of information. If people want more they will tell you they do by watching other videos you have, commenting, and asking questions. Keep your videos between 60 and 90 seconds unless you are teaching something. Then you are okay with 2 - 5 minutes.

They Don't Give Viewers a Reason to Stay

I see this A LOT. Many times marketers don't prepare and they tend to ramble. Remember, you are in competition with cats, comedians, babies, funny accidents, vloggers, and a myriad of other tempting videos to watch. Compelling content is incredibly crucial.

You can make your content both compelling and pre-qualify people at the same time. Simply tell your viewers, "in this video, you will learn, see, find... and then explain the benefit of watching the video.

This helps viewers understand that they are here for the right reason, and to keep watching. Anyone else who stumbles upon your video will realize they are in the wrong place and leave. Don't worry about them though. You didn't want them to see the video anyway.

By avoiding these issues you will find it much easier to get people to not only watch your videos, but follow your advice when you recommend a product or service on your site.
